My Journey In Dog Training: A Lifelong Passion

For nearly three decades, I’ve dedicated my life to understanding, training, and building meaningful relationships with dogs. What began as a childhood fascination quickly evolved into a lifelong vocation—one that has brought me immeasurable joy, fulfillment, and purpose. With 28 years of hands-on experience in dog training, I’ve had the privilege of working with countless breeds, temperaments, and families, helping dogs become confident, well-mannered companions and helping owners build trust and harmony with their pets.

My journey took a major leap forward when I opened my own training center in Andover, Minnesota. It was more than just a business—it was a community hub where dogs and their humans came together to learn, grow, and thrive. We offered everything from basic obedience to behavior modification, and I poured my heart into every session. The center was a dream realized, and for years it served as a space where transformation happened daily. Unfortunately, like many small businesses, we were forced to close our doors during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a heartbreaking chapter, but it also reaffirmed my commitment to this work and the deep impact it has on people’s lives.

I hold a CPDT-KA certification (Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed), a credential that reflects both my expertise and my commitment to ethical, science-based training methods. I believe that learning never stops, especially in a field as dynamic and nuanced as dog behavior. That’s why I continue to invest in my education every year, logging hours of continuing education through seminars, workshops, and courses. Staying current with the latest research and techniques allows me to offer the best possible guidance to the dogs and families I serve.

Dogs have always been central to my life—not just professionally, but personally. I currently share my home with three wonderful dogs who keep me grounded, inspired, and endlessly entertained. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of loving and caring for more than 15 dogs, each with their own unique personality and story. They’ve taught me patience, resilience, and the power of unconditional love. My own pack has been my greatest teachers, reminding me daily why this work matters.

To me, dog training is far more than a job—it’s a calling. It’s about fostering connection, building trust, and helping both dogs and their humans live better lives together. Whether I’m working with a nervous rescue, a rambunctious puppy, or a seasoned senior, my goal is always the same: to create a safe, supportive environment where learning can flourish. I approach every dog with empathy and curiosity, tailoring my methods to meet their individual needs and honoring the bond they share with their people.

As I look ahead, I remain deeply committed to this path. I’m excited to continue sharing my knowledge, supporting families, and advocating for humane, effective training practices. Every dog has a story, and every training journey is a chance to make that story brighter. Thank you for being part of mine.
